RBG Launches Enhanced Marine and Subsea Service Offering

10 February 2010

RBG Limited (“RBG”), the leading provider of fabric maintenance and construction support to the global energy industry, today launches a new range of products and services enhancing the company’s marine and subsea capability.

RBG’s new, diver friendly hydraulic lightweight flange pulling tool is used to aid the safe and efficient assembly of flanged connections prior to the application of bolts. The compact device is operated either by a hand pump or remotely powered hydraulic unit and can pull flanges from distances up to of 600mm, with an applied force of 20 tonnes.

To complement the new flange tooling, the company also launched its upgraded Flange Management Software. The system advises on the correct bolt torque and tension values by recording flange behaviour, modifications and long-term activity. It provides an integrated point of reference for documentation, technical information, images and video that can be accessed remotely at any time, for simple reference or to support HSE related matters.

Jason Smith, General Manager at RBG explains: “Our new flange tooling and software provides clients with increased capability and flexibility for their subsea construction and maintenance operations. Our integrated solutions have been designed to be as efficient as possible and Subsea 2010 is the ideal platform to launch them.”

The company also announced the formation of a new Marine & Subsea division. By merging the company’s traditional marine and fabrication units, RBG now offers a complete subsea support package, from fabrication to deployment, construction support and maintenance.

Calum Buchanan, RBG Marine & Subsea Director, commented: “I am confident the consolidation of our marine and subsea operations will bring significant benefits to our clients. We have industry-leading expertise and experience across our units and bringing this together will enhance our ability to provide bespoke solutions to our clients issues.”
