iicorr Secures High Scores in Industry Verify Programme
02 March 2010
Aberdeen-based integrity, inspection and corrosion specialist iicorr celebrates fantastic results in the FPAL scheme operated by Achilles.FPAL works to identify, qualify, evaluate and monitor suppliers on behalf of its purchasing members.
iicorr achieved excellent results in their recent Verify visit. iicorr received 9.1 for health and safety, 8.4 for environmental practices and 8.6 for the company’s competence and training.
iicorr participated in the FPAL Verify scheme, a supplier assessment that involves a verification visit to assess Health and Safety, Environmental, Competence and Training practices. The Health and Safety and Environmental practices are in alignment with the oil and gas industry’s OGP and NORSOK standards.
The results of the visit, along with individual supplier improvement plans are then shared online by the 40 purchasers who are participating in the scheme.
iicorr actively participate in both FPAL Verify and FPAL Performance Feedback. Margaret Watson customer relations manager at iicorr said: “We are delighted to be verified by FPAL. As a prestigious programme in the industry, we are proud that our Health, Safety, Environment and Competence and Training capabilities independently assessed by FPAL as meeting the highest industry standards. Our customer relations and supply chain management teams have put in great effort to help achieve this.
Both suppliers and purchasers who are FPAL registered are also encouraged to participate in performance feedback.
“Our customers also gave excellent support by working with us to process and submit more than 100 supplier performance feedback forms on to the FPAL database last year resulting in approximately 1,200 submission entries over all of the elements covered.”
FPAL is the key tool used by oil and gas purchasers to identify and select current and potential suppliers when awarding contracts or purchase orders. The process replaces internal approved vendor lists and eliminates costly duplication in pre-qualifying suppliers.
Rob Wheadon, assessment services team leader, FPAL said: “We congratulate iicorr on their recent FPAL scoring where the company’s ongoing commitment was duly noted. We encourage more businesses like iicorr to join the programme, and have their hard work recognised.”
