Castrol Offshore Invests in Asia-Pacific Infrastructure

15 March 2010

Castrol Offshore has commissioned a new speciality product plant in Australia. The facility provides Castrol’s Transaqua HT2 water based subsea control fluid to both domestic and overseas customers, helping to ensure security of supply to operators of subsea developments in Australia, New Zealand and across the Asia-Pacific region.

The Transaqua HT2 blending plant is situated within an existing BP Group lubricants manufacturing plant based in Australia and is designed with high specification materials and filtration to ensure it meets Castrol’s stringent global quality control standards.

Castrol Transaqua HT2 is formulated for use as the control medium in surface and subsea production control systems. A special feature is the inclusion of an UV tracer for subsea leak detection. The high performance product is available throughout Australia via distribution warehouses in Fremantle, Melbourne & Brisbane and operational supply points in Karratha, Broome & Darwin.

Tim Taylor, Offshore Sales Manager for Castrol Offshore, said: “Investing in resource is integral to our long-term commitment to the region. The creation of more local manufacturing facilities is part of wider enhancements to our service; we now have both sales and technical staff in our Perth project office, as well as teams in Singapore, Indonesia and China.
