Floating offshore policy with Renewable UK [Webinar]

This webinar explored how the UK can seize the global prize of floating wind and with ScotWind now underway, and the UK Government’s pledge to "enable new floating wind farms” the stage is very much set. The webinar outlined the contribution floating wind can make to the UK’s net-zero carbon target, how the technology can aid the diversification of the oil and gas industry, and the role of floating wind in delivering economic benefit across UK regions. It outlined the size of the opportunity, and the strong role UK supply chain can play in delivering floating wind, aiding economic recovery.
Rebecca Williams, Head of Policy and Regulation, leads RenewableUK's work to develop policy and engage stakeholders on the next steps in the energy transition. Rebecca specialises in market design, working closely with governments and regulators to effect change that will deliver renewable energy at the scale needed for net zero. In addition to mature renewables like onshore and offshore wind, Rebecca leads RenewableUK’s work to create the right policy framework to bring innovative technologies – such as floating offshore wind, tidal energy and electricity storage – to market.
