ITF Announces New Appointment to Board of Directors

ITF, the oil Industry Technology Facilitator has appointed Brian Mercer, innovation manager at Production Services Network (PSN), the international energy services company, to its board of directors.

As a non-executive director of the ITF board, Mr Mercer will be responsible for contributing to the strategic direction of the organisation in line with the objectives set by its members.

In his current role at PSN, Mr Mercer is responsible for identifying areas of the business where innovation – both work practice and technology – can be successfully implemented to continually improve and differentiate PSN’s service to clients.

Neil Poxon, managing director for ITF said:

“Brian’s role within PSN is closely aligned to ITF’s remit. His expertise fits very well with the input we need from a board member and I am confident he will play a key role in our future development. As ITF continues to grow its international membership it is essential that we can call upon senior industry experience and knowledge to provide strategic direction that is in the best interest of all our members.”

The board of directors comprises nine directors from within ITF’s operating and service company membership and includes MD for ITF, Neil Poxon. The board meets formally at least four times a year. Each of ITF’s 23 members also has a separate member representative whose role it is to put forward their employer’s view on particular issues.

Owned by 23 major operator and service companies, ITF is a champion for technology development. Working with technology developers and its members to identify exploration and production (E&P) technology needs, the not-for-profit organisation supports the development and implementation of new technologies into the industry.
