David Saul
BP
David is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years’ experience working in the Oil and Gas Industry. He worked in subsea controls for Aker and GE before joining BP in 2005. He is council chairman of the Society for Underwater Technology and a member of the engineering advisory panel for Brunel University.
David’s current role is the Subsea Technical Authority for BP’s Safety and Operational Risk (S&OR) group. Working on issues relating to subsea technical integrity and conformance together with providing specialist advice in his practice areas. David is also the BP Advisor on subsea system reliability and externally chairs the API 17N Task group.
Prior to his current role David lead BP’s autonomous underwater vehicle development programme before moving to the Shah Deniz stage 2 project, where he managed the subsea technology qualification programme. David then moved to the newly formed BP Global Subsea Hardware team managing reliability and technology development.
