The competition, which opens today, is open to Expressions of Interest (EoIs) until 8 October 2020, with invitations to full application by 20 October 2020. The final submission deadline for full applications will be 26 November 2020.
Applicants will be informed of the funding decisions by the end of February 2021.
Subject areas of interest
All proposals must be relevant to at least one of SAICís Priority Innovation Areas (PIAs):
- PIA 1: Improving fish health and wellbeing;
- PIA 2: Unlocking additional, sustainable capacity in Scottish aquaculture;
- PIA 3: Production of shellfish and other non-finfish species.
With this call, SAIC is inviting applied R&D proposals that offer solutions to issues affecting the Scottish aquaculture sector. Proposals must be scientifically robust and will be assessed by SAICís Independent Scientific Panel.
SAIC-funded projects must be able to demonstrate that they are leading towards potential economic benefit to the Scottish economy. Commercial uptake and financial impact are important measures of value, as is the quality of the scientific enquiry.
