Triton Secures Major Contract with MoD

15 April 2010

Subsea technology company Triton Group in Lowestoft has won a six-figure contract with the Ministry of Defence.

The deal will see group member Sub-Atlantic supply the MoD with specialist subsea surveillance equipment.

The Comanche Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) will be used for multibeam survey and salvage work. The system is air portable so can respond quickly worldwide, according to the firm.

Sub-Atlantic also provided similar surveillance equipment to the Spanish Coastguard in 2008, as well as ROV components and other subsea products to the Russian military, the US and Australian navy thus demonstrating their global presence.
