Expansion of Global Network of Channel Partners for WFS Technologies

03 May 2010

WFS Technologies, world leading developer of through-water and through-ground wireless radio frequency (RF) technology for communication, navigation and power transfer announces expansion of the company's global presence with the recruitment of 4 new Channel Partners in Europe across the territories of Italy, Norway, Spain & Portugal and Benelux.

The new partners in the company's Energy & Environment business, include Nautilus Oceanica S.L covering Spain & Portugal (http://www.nautilusoceanica.com/), Seabed BV covering Benelux (http://www.seabed.nl/) , API srl covering Italy (http://www.api-automation.it/), and LateraL AS covering Norway (http://www.lateral.no/). These new territory appointments will support WFS Technologies in expanding the reach of through-water and through-ground wireless RF technology across the globe by targeting applications in Environmental Monitoring, Oceanography and Hydrometry.

Founded in 2003, WFS launched the world's first commercially available underwater Radio Modem, Seatext in 2006. The same year, the company was announced as the Overall Winner of the UK MoD's top innovation award. WFS's Broadband Data Link, Seatooth, was launched in January 2007 and was followed later that year by a launch of the world's first dual technology Radio Acoustic Modem, RAM-300.

WFS's disruptive technology is revolutionizing control and communications in underwater and underground environments. RF technology has the distinct advantage that it will operate in adverse water conditions, is unaffected by acoustic noise, is free from multipathing problems and that the Doppler effects are minimal. Critically, WFS's products support data transmission across the water/air and ground/air boundaries, penetrating the surf zone, ice, harbour walls, and typically impenetrable materials.

Through the new European channel partners WFS technology and products will benefit to customers in environmental consultancy and engineering, utility companies, government and scientific organizations.

“WFS is delighted to be working with Nautilus, Seabed, API, and LateraL. Their appointment is an important part of a the global growth of WFS as it delivers world-leading underwater and underground radio systems to a range of customers in the Energy & Environment sectors”, says Ian Crowther, General Manager, WFS Energy & Environment. “Each of these partners brings tremendous experience in the within their respective territories, and I am confident that each will deliver exceptionally levels of service.”
