UK-Japan Free Trade Agreement: Launch of Virtual Spring Mission

24 February 2021

Since January 2021, the UK has a new Free Trade Agreement with Japan, the world’s third largest economy, opening even more opportunities for UK companies to forge partnerships and generate new business in this dynamic Asian country. Marking this exciting new chapter in trading relations between the UK and Japan, the Department for International Trade (DIT) is delighted to announce a series of business focused UK-Japan Trade events.

This unprecedented trade mission will be run over the Spring period and is truly historic in its ambition.

On the 2nd of March 2021 at 09:00 GMT, the Minister for Exports, Graham Stuart, will launch the ‘Partnering with Japan – Spring ’21 Free Trade Agreement Series’. The 90-minute launch event will not only provide expert insight into the Japanese market and how the Free Trade Agreement can benefit business but will also enable participating companies to develop their knowledge of how to succeed and support their plans for engaging with the Japanese market. DIT will also be explaining the benefits on offer of DIT’s in-house Export Academy, and the wide range of support you can receive from DIT's Strategic Partner, Export to Japan.

To get involved and join the launch event, businesses and organisations can Sign Up Here to this free event which will include sessions with the Minister, experts in Japan and leading figures from UK companies.

And this is only the beginning. Throughout this three-month Spring mission series, a wide variety of events will be on offer; from webinars and business-to-business roundtables to Q&A sessions – with sector, regional and investment events all taking place.

These events have been specifically designed to inspire and support companies to export with Japan. In the coming days and weeks the Event Calendar will be updated with the events taking place as part of this exciting and ambitious series.
