Seafarer Orphan Charity Reaches Out

09 June 2010

The Royal Liverpool Seamen's Orphan Institution (RLSOI) has been offering financial aid to struggling families for over 130 years. Founded in 1868, the RLSOI has sought to protect the partners and children of merchant seafarers who have died, as well as seafarers who have suffered a loss, causing them to stay at home caring for their family.

The RLSOI provides assistance to children through welfare (covering food and clothing) and educational grants.

If you can answer 'yes' to the following questions, please apply to the RLSOI and see if they help you:

Are you the partner of a deceased British merchant seafarer?

Do you have children below school age, in education or further education?

Are you a British merchant seafarer who is at home caring for the family alone?

The RLSOI considers every application on individual merits and has helped disadvantaged children accross the UK get a fair start in life. If you think they can help you, please get in touch.
