Steve designs, manages and delivers collaboration programmes between industry and academia, principally around marine and maritime technology; driving commercial innovation and research impact for the University of Plymouth.
For 9 years Steve has specialised within the marine technology industries; managing and delivering high profile regional R&D programmes across the South West. Most recently, Steve has focused on driving innovation in the development and use of marine autonomous systems across a broad interdisciplinary knowledge base including; environmental intelligence, marine robotics and maritime cyber security. Within the industry sector Steve holds roles as:
Chair of the Autonomy Special Interest Group for the South West Regional Defence and Security Cluster (SWRDSC).
Co-Chair of the Future Autonomous at Sea Technologies Innovation cluster (FAST); the UK’s largest marine autonomy cluster.
Key partner in Smart Sound Plymouth and the Marine Business Technology Centre.
