Rear Admiral (Rtd) Paul Halton OBE spent the early years of his career serving in submarines and surface ships, operating from under the arctic ice cap to the Far East. In 2004, he was privileged to take command of HMS SPARTAN, embarking on a diverse period of nationally important tasking. Tours leading leadership, Naval new entrants and sea training followed, after which he spent time in Afghanistan. On his return to the UK, he undertook the prestigious Higher Command and Staff Course. As a Commodore, he commanded the 15 Capital Ships, Frigates and Survey Vessels of the Devonport Flotilla before being promoted to Rear Admiral in October 2017, going on to direct all Royal Navy global operations. This was followed by stimulating 3 years as the Submarine Delivery Agency’s Director of Submarine Support, where he focused on accelerating and driving the necessary enterprise changes to improve availability. Now embarking on the second stage of his career, post military service, he has joined the highly respected consultancy, Turner and Townsend as a Director in their Programme Advisory team.
