Supply chain companies urged to submit their views ahead of Offshore Wind Supply Chain Summit

20 July 2022

A high-level summit will take place next month to identify the actions that must be taken for the Scottish supply chain to fully capitalise on the opportunities provided by offshore wind.

The Offshore Wind Supply Chain summit, which has been organised by Energy Transition Zone Ltd in partnership with the Scottish Government and the Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council (SOWEC) will take place on Monday 22nd August 2022 in Aberdeen. The summit will be opened by Sir Ian Wood, chaired by Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Energy, and will include a keynote address by Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP, First Minster of Scotland.

It will build upon the Offshore Wind Collaborative Framework Charter and will use the agreed premise and components of the Charter to deliver the outcomes of this summit. The outcome of the summit will provide a clear pathway of interventions and commitments required of developers, supply chain companies and Government to ensure this ambition is met.

Ahead of the summit, supply chain companies from across the UK are being asked to complete a questionnaire. Summit organisers say the responses will help shape and inform discussion during the summit and will be crucial in developing overall commitments that will result in accelerating the Scottish supply chain’s capabilities within the offshore wind sector.

The deadline for responding to the questionnaire is Monday, 25 July.
