Acergy Bags $1.3bn Clov Bounty

29 July 2010

The workscope includes installation of the subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines for the Clov floating production, storage and offloading unit plus other subsea components.

Engineering work will start immediately, with offshore installation scheduled to take place from the fourth quarter of 2012.

Offshore installation will be undertaken by the newbuild heavylift pipelayer, Acergy Borealis, diving support vessel, Acergy Eagle and subsea construction and flowline lay vessel, Acergy Legend.

Acergy Borealis is under construction at Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore.

The contract award comes after a tender round for the construction of a newbuild floating production, storage and offloading vessel, which is now expected to be carried out at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering’s shipyard in Geoje Island, South Korea.

Production at the Clov development is due to start up in 2012.
