Spectis Technician, Martyn Black, has just recently attained a Bachelors of Engineering, graduating with an impressive first-class honours.

Martyn joined the business in 2016 as Technical Assistant and has since embarked on his studies with RGU though a work-based learning Graduate Apprenticeship scheme.  Studying through the pandemic naturally came with its challenges as tutorials and lectures migrated to online spaces, testing individual commitment.  However, this did not deter Martyn by any means as he excelled in his academic pursuits, achieving top level results.

Brian Storie, Managing Director at Spectis, said: "We are delighted to have supported Martyn’s career growth and professional development.  Martyn has repeatedly demonstrated his dedication to the business and desire to learn as our range of specialised inspection robotics continues to expand.  Martyn is a valued member of our team and we are excited to see him develop further in his role here at Spectis Robotics.”

Originally founded as Inuktun Europe in 2010, Spectis Robotics offers the most advanced robotic inspection solutions on the market and continues to be an industry leader in exhibiting new robotic technology for remote inspections to a variety of high-profile industries.  Spectis Robotics is passionate about embracing budding talent having previously welcomed graduates via the Scottish Enterprise Graduate Outreach Programme, as well as providing work experience opportunities for school pupils and temporary work placements to support undergraduate study.

Brian Storie added: "Spectis is committed to recognising the potential in each of its employees, we ensure that they are fully supported in their development, both on a personal and professional level.  We understand the crucial skills and knowledge that young people bring to the industry, and that it is vital they are provided with the opportunities for career advancement. ”
