ORE Catapult (Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult) have announced that the organisation is now accepting applications for its flagship technology accelerator programme, Launch Academy. Applications for Launch Academy 2023 are now live and will remain open until 30th November.
Successful companies can expect to receive nine months of technology development, commercialisation, and business growth support from ORE Catapult, a cadre of specialist external delivery partners and this years incredible host of industry sponsors bp, Equinor, Ψrsted and RWE.
Launch Academy 2023 is accepting applications targeted at seven technology challenges, developed by industry sponsors, and an Open Call category sponsored by bp:
Low-carbon Vessels Charging solutions at offshore substations for CTVs and SOVs
Celtic Sea Ports Mitigating the impact of high tidal variation on port operations
Low-carbon Vessels Planning and optimisation tools for future port and vessel operations
Grid Services Aggregating and stacking revenue streams to deliver enhanced value
Cables Improving monitoring and protection to reduce failures, reduce risk and reduce costs
Ornithology Measuring and reducing the impact of wind farms on birds during construction and operation
Autonomous Technologies Applications in operations and maintenance

Eligibility: Any company actively seeking to commercialise a technology solution in the offshore wind, wave or tidal sectors is welcome to apply. This opportunity is available to UK-registered companies, or companies with an ambition to establish a presence in the United Kingdom.
Successful companies will be shortlisted following the close of applications on November 30th, with finalists invited to pitch in January/February 2023 and winners announced shortly thereafter.
