Triton Secures ROV Contract with JOGMEC
17 August 2010
Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) has contracted subsea specialist Perry Slingsby Systems (PSS) to enhance its deepwater exploration activities with their first Triton XLR ROV system. The contract will see PSS supply a 3,000m Triton XLR system designed specifically to meet the requirements for JOGMEC's worldwide research programme. The new Triton XLR will be completed in March 2011 and will be installed on JOGMEC's new oceanographic research vessel.
The system is equipped with ICE net controls, PSS's ROVDP and is further enhanced with a full suite of high definition video and recording equipment.
PSS, part of Aberdeen-based Triton Group, will provide a complete training program for the JOGMEC engineers and will support the interface and installation services from its Asia Pacific base in Singapore.
