In 2019 the UK became the first major economy to legislated to reach Net Zero emissions by 2050. This ambitious target has created an opportunity to generate better jobs, increase resilience, improve the health and wellbeing and help protect our planet.
In order to reach Net Zero we need to be acting now and creating different ways of working, new technologies, innovative solutions and more importantly people with the right skills to deliver on it.
Green Skills provides a fantastic platform for both businesses and people in this global transition to play an active part. So join Advance Northumberland during Net Zero Week to discuss green skills within Northumberland on Friday 7th July at 10am. The webinar will be looking at the County’s strengths in renewable energy, the role education plays through the transition, the challenges both education and business are facing with green skills and the initiatives and support that are on offer.
This webinar will be a 60-minute panel discussion on Microsoft Teams and will feature technological solutions pioneer – Transmission Dynamics, experts in coatings – Akzo Nobel, transformational, dynamic further education provider – the Education Partnership North East, one of the UK’s leading innovation center – the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and North of Tyne Combined Authority whose vision is to narrow inequalities, create vibrant communities and a more inclusive economy.
