Subsea UK Launches Major Subsea Business Survey
02 November 2010
Subsea UK has launched its latest annual Subsea sector survey to establish key information on the sector's activities and to create information that puts substance to the importance of the UK's burgeoning subsea sector. This is the fourth Subsea UK business sector review and targets important information on business activity, numbers employed, location of capacity, export value and other key indicators. This information will allow Subsea UK to more effectively promote the Subsea sector to future customers, investors, government bodies and other key stakeholders.
With over 800 subsea related businesses identified, including operators, manufacturers, contractors and specialist suppliers, this is a comprehensive review of activity, covering all aspects of UKCS and export activity.
Commenting on the launch Subsea UK’s Chief Executive, Alistair Birnie, said: "There is growing recognition in all quarters that the UK subsea sector is a major and continuing success story, both at home and overseas. This latest survey aims to quantify this success and to also capture the future ambitions of the sector for the future, in oil & gas and offshore renewable energy".
Also included in this work is an analysis of key strengths of the UK's offering and will seek to identify opportunities in UK and export markets for the future.
The survey will culminate in a report which will be available to Subsea UK members and participants early in 2011.
