NSRI Welcomes FMC Technologies as New Member

Leading research organisation the National Subsea Research Institute (NSRI) has welcomed FMC Technologies, a leading technological solutions provider for the oil and gas industry.

Based in Dunfermline, FMC Technologies will bring NSRI’s membership to 22 companies. With a wealth of experience in providing solutions specifically to the subsea sector, it will provide the organisation with a depth of knowledge and understanding of the issues facing the industry.

FMC Technologies will join NSRI’s industry steering group, which is responsible for ensuring that the institute focuses on developing those technologies required to maintain the UK subsea sector’s leading position in global markets over the next 20 years.

Mark Critchley, business development manager said: “We are delighted to welcome FMC Technologies to NSRI and look forward to their input as we develop our studies.

“As a genuine partnership between industry, academia and the Government working in unison for the long term benefit of the sector, bringing on another member is a mark of the faith that the subsea sector, for its part, has placed in this initiative to achieve its long term objectives.”

A partnership between Subsea UK, Newcastle University, the University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University and the University of Dundee, NSRI’s aim is to develop and lead a coordinated research strategy for the subsea sector, developing and maintaining the UK’s position as a centre of excellence for subsea technology and skills.
