NHC Training Developments in Brazil

The National Hyperbaric Centre (NHC) of Aberdeen has recently signed an agreement with the Diver University of Brazil to provide a range of Subsea training courses under an International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) approved scheme. The joint venture will see the NHC in conjunction with the Diver University deliver Diving Supervisor and Life Support courses in South America, translated into Portuguese, issuing students with NHC certificates, recognised by IMCA.Rafael De Nicola, Director at The Diver University of Brazil explained, “As an ongoing effort to improve training and standardise the competence of Brazilian professionals, we have formed a partnership with one of the leading subsea training centres in the world, the National Hyperbaric Centre. With this partnership, we will be able to run the courses held in Aberdeen at the Diver University in Brazil”.
Neil Gordon, General Manger of the NHC, commented, “We see this strategic partnership with the Diver University of Brazil not only a success for the University and the NHC, but a success for the diving industry as a whole. By uniting with the Diver University, we can provide consistency in training standards and personnel competencies in a region where we could make significant improvements and be aligned with international standards. As part of the NHC global development plan, this agreement in Brazil marks a significant step in our overseas growth.”
The first courses are due to commence in February, with the Air Diving Supervisor being the first, followed by the NHC highly successful Client Representative course.
