Framo Scoops Chevron St Malo deal
11 April 2011
US supermajor Chevron has given a pumping systems contract for one of its fields in the Gulf of Mexico to Norway's Framo Engineering.Financial details of the contract to supply engineering, procurement, manufacturing and delivery of subsea systems for the Jack and St Malo field have been kept under wraps, however.
"The scope of supply consists of several...single-pump stations...subsea single-phase pumps, subsea electrical power components including high voltage wet mateable connectors and subsea transformers,” a statement from Bergen-based Framo read on Monday.
Also included in the deal are subsea pump control system, installation, intervention and testing tools, as well as project management engineering and other services.
Framo sales director Jon Arve Svaeren wrote: "We are confident, however humble, [of] the challenge ahead of us as the Jack and St Malo project takes us deeper, with longer step-outs and at higher pressures than any subsea boosting system has ever been before”
