Technip Appoints Bill Morrice as Managing Director, UK

25 May 2011

Technip has announced that it has appointed Bill Morrice as Managing Director of its UK operating center, based in Aberdeen. Bill takes over from Ron Cookson who is taking on a senior role in the Group's newly established Offshore Wind business.

As Managing Director, Bill will be responsible for winning and executing subsea projects offshore UK, Denmark, the Netherlands and West Coast of Ireland. With over 25 years subsea industry experience Bill is extremely well placed to develop the business and to capitalise upon Technip's strong market position.

Bill joins Technip following a nine year tenure at subsea well intervention specialists, Helix Well Ops, part of the global Helix ESG Group. His most recent position as Global Vice President saw him responsible for Well Op's activities in Europe, West Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific, as well as for the company's marine, diving and subsea well access assets.

Previous to this Bill spent 15 years working in business unit leadership, project management and engineering roles, firstly with Dunlop Armaline Ltd, then with Sperrysun MWD Ltd and finally with Coflexip Stena Offshore (now part of Technip). His career then took a turn in to Executive Management following the divestiture of the Well Operations business from Technip to Helix, which Bill co-managed.

Commenting on his appointment, Bill said: "I am very much looking forward to working with the team to build upon the success the UK operating center has had to date. My focus will be on achieving customer satisfaction, excellent subsea project execution, encouraging innovation, and instilling and reinforcing the values that provide a healthy, safe and supportive work environment.”

Bill will report to Knut Boe, Senior Vice President, North Sea, Canada who also commented: "We are delighted that Bill is joining Technip - we are extremely confident that his vast experience will add considerable value to our business.” .
