26 May 2011
Subsea North East, the regional industry advocacy organisation, is offering supply chain companies the opportunity to showcase their products and services, as well as network, at two major industry events.
The Subsea North East Conference and Exhibition takes place in Newton Aycliffe on the 9th June from 9am until 3.15pm and is preceded by a pre-conference dinner on Wednesday 8th June at Redworth Hall hotel in Darlington.
Entitled ‘Subsea: Business Opportunities in the Global Market', the event will highlight the importance of the subsea sector in the UK and the global business opportunities for the sector's supply chain.
Up to 200 attendees are expected at the Xcel Centre and speakers from Petrobras Brazil, Express Engineering, Shell Nigeria, PWX Consulting and ODS-Petrodata will address the conference.
Each of the Subsea North East Executive Committee companies will have a branded area at the exhibition, where representatives will be available for discussions on business in the subsea sector, both in the UK and internationally.
The Executive Committee includes; BEL Valves, Duco, IHC Engineering Business, Newcastle University, Perry Slingsby, SMD, Wilton Group, Contitech Beattie, Wellstream, NOF Energy and Subsea UK.
Conference and exhibition places are available for members of business support organisation NOF Energy and members of Subsea UK. Non-member companies with a North East address can access member rates at this event.
Tables of ten and individual places are available for the pre-conference dinner, which will be held at Redworth Hall Hotel. Robin Davies of Subsea 7 will speak during the evening, and will be available for supply-chain networking.
Andrew Hodgson, Chief Executive of SMD and Chairman of Subsea North East, said: "The Subsea North East conference and exhibition is a high-profile, outward looking event. It is a North East conference with international focus and the pre-conference dinner and the day itself will offer a wealth of networking opportunities to the supply chain.
"The combination of pioneering technology and decades of engineering expertise has enabled the subsea sector to become a tremendous asset for the region. The success of the sector also has a positive effect on the supply chain and a cluster of North East based companies have established beneficial relationships with subsea companies. This conference will be chance to celebrate those collaborations and create new ones.”
Joanne Leng MBE, Director Business Development at NOF Energy, said:
The conference offers the opportunity for major companies to connect with the supply chain and for our members to exhibit to these top industry contacts. It also enables companies to not only learn about international business opportunities, but gain advice from the experienced companies on the Subsea North East Executive Committee.”
