Perry Triton(R) XLX Systems Selected by Subsea 7

21 June 2011

Forum Energy Technologies (FET) announced today the sale of two of its high performance Perry Triton(R) XLX ROV systems to global seabed-to-surface engineering, construction and services company, Subsea 7. The systems will be mobilized on-board the Grant Candies construction vessel at the end of June, in support of a three-year Life--of-Field contract.

This order further increases Subsea 7's fleet of Perry ROV systems following their purchase of two Perry Triton(R) XLS systems last year. The XLX is the latest generation in the successful Triton(R) series of vehicles and features a number of product enhancements, including the ICE(TM) control system. It is a proprietary, all-in-one solution offering on-board processing, data communication, sensor circuitry, advanced diagnostics, and power regulation. The subsea components of ICE operate in oil at ambient pressures, thus eliminating the need for large, complex pressure vessel assemblies. The Triton XLX is powered by a single HPU assembly consisting of a Sub-Atlantic 150HP/200HP and is designed to accommodate upgrades for 250HP applications.

"We are very pleased that Subsea 7 recognized the value of our high performance Triton(R) XLX," said Kevin Taylor, Vice President -- Subsea Vehicles. "The Perry Triton(R) XLX and XLS vehicles have proven themselves around the world and as we move to develop the next generation of Perry vehicles we look forward to maintaining a long relationship with Subsea 7."
