50 New Jobs Declared at Expro in Ulverston

06 July 2011

It has been declared that Expro Connectors & Measurements, home to the Tronic Subsea Systems, of Ulverston, are looking to recruit 50 new positions at its Subsea Excellence Centre in Cumbria.

Expro Connectors & Measurements is recognised as a world leader in its field; providing subsea connectors for global oil and gas projects spanning the past 30 years.

Having moved into their £12 million purpose built facilities in 2009, the Ulverston office alone in 2010 saw an order intake of £60 million. The Expro Connectors & Measurements head office is a hidden gem nestled in the middle of Ulverston with further facilities based in Norway, the US, Brazil and a new facility in Malaysia.

Phil Ashley, general manager of Expro Connectors & Measurements said: "As a result of a steady growing demand over the past decade for high reliability, high integrity subsea products, it has always been part of our ongoing strategy to grow our capability to meet our customers’ needs. We started this by moving to our Subsea Excellence Centre in 2009, and now with almost 300 employees we are still not at full capacity. This recruitment drive will further enhance our capability and is an excellent opportunity to join the home of the Tronic product.”

With positions available in engineering, project management, production and quality, Expro will also be recruiting to support an exciting new division focusing on the renewable energy sector. All jobs are to go live on Thursday July 7, via the company website, social networking sites and local press. This will be a fantastic opportunity for a much needed employment boost in the local area.
