Subsea 7 Wins Natural Gas Contract in Australia

On Friday Norwegian-based Subsea 7 announced that it had won a $440 million contract from Chevron Australia Pty Ltd for an offshore natural gas construction project. Subsea 7 specialises in seabed to surface engineering and construction contracting in hard to reach parts of the world.

Subsea 7 has been hired to build the Gorgon natural gas facility offshore from Western Australia. The construction contract includes installation and tie-in of heavy lift structures in the Gorgon and Jansz fields which are located 65km and 130km from Barrow Island, off the north-west coast of Western Australia. The project will reach undersea depths of 1,350 meters below the surface.
