Schilling Robotics Completes Subsea Drilling Test

Davis-based Schilling Robotics LLC said it has completed testing of a subsea drill with in the waters off Vancouver, British Columbia.

The sea floor drill was conceived by John Gregg of Moss Landing-based Gregg Marine Inc., and completed factory testing at Schilling.

The sea floor trial helped Gregg Marine fine-tune the controls and train the operators of the drills, according to a news release from Schilling.

The system will be move to drill near Australia.

Schilling is a leading deep-ocean robotics company with regional offices in Texas, the United Kingdom and Singapore.
