Scotland’s leading PR consultancy, The BIG Partnership, has won a quarter of a million pounds of new business in its Aberdeen operation and grown its headcount in the Granite City to twenty two.
The agency, which has been ranked number one by PR Week (outwith London) for the last two years, has also secured extensions to existing clients, totalling a further £100,000.
The new business wins include CorDEX, Digitron, EPC Offshore, Energy Environmental Limited, EV, Fairfield Energy, Faroe Petroleum, Intertek, Interwell and the Wood Family Trust.
Five new faces have been recruited in the last three months.
Eilidh McCluskie joins BIG as an account manager having spent six years in various public relations roles in Liverpool, working in both the public and private sectors.
With a BA Honours degree in Media Professional Studies from Liverpool John Moores University, Eilidh has extensive experience in strategic communications planning, stakeholder engagement and delivering high profile PR campaigns.
Jennifer Gibson takes up a newly created account manager role following an 18 month spell with an international public relations consultancy in Edinburgh. Jennifer gained a MA Honours degree in International Relations and Sociology from the University of Aberdeen before taking up the post as Parliamentary assistant with North-east MSP’s Alex Salmond and Maureen Watt.
BIG director and head of the Aberdeen office, Zoe Corsi, said: "The majority of our new business is in the energy sector, where we are a recognised market leader. Since the beginning of the year we have seen an increase in the appetite among energy companies for intelligent communications solutions that offer an integrated approach to traditional media relations, social media, stakeholder engagement and reputation management. This is reflected in the company’s rising number of energy clients which already account for over £1 million of BIG's turnover.
"The new appointments bolster our depth and diversity of communications expertise.”
Further new appointments include senior account executive Stacey Horne who joins the team having spent three years as a journalist with the Press & Journal.
Vicky Florence, also joining as a senior account executive, has three years’ experience in public relations at both local and global PR firms and has worked across a range of sectors including energy, tourism, business, public sector and consumer PR.
Former journalist, Ross Anderson, joins BIG from Aberdeen City Council’s corporate communications team as an account executive, having begun his career at the Ellon Times newspaper in 2007.
