Well Ops Nabs Talisman UK Works

Aberdeen-based subsea well intervention specialists Well Ops UK have bagged a multi-service contract with Canada's Talisman Energy on the UK continental shelf.

The contractor, which is a unit of international energy services company Helix Energy Solutions Group, will carry out a number of subsea workscopes under the new contract.

Well maintenance and production enhancement operations as well as a number of well abandonments at various fields within Talisman’s portfolio of assets are all part of the multi-service campaign.

The works are to be carried out using the company’s MSV Seawell intervention vessel, and are expected to last at least two months.

Well Ops regional vice president Steve Nairn said he believed that the contractor’s range of well intervention services would remain in high demand thanks to "investments which are being made in the North Sea establishing new fields and rejuvenating existing ones”.
