OGX Wins Approval for Waimea Operations Off Brazil
04 January 2012OGX has secured a license from the Brazilian Institute for Environment and Renewable Natural Resources for a production program in the Campos basin.
The permit authorizes operation of the FPSO OSX-1 and subsea facilities related to an Extended Well Test (EWT) and development of the shallow water Waimea accumulation in the BM-C-41 block.
Subsea equipment has been installed, and the FPSO is now ready to sail to the EWT location for connection with the production system to initiate the EWT, which OGX expects to get under way on January 23.
Waimea was discovered via well OGX-3 in December 2009. The EWT will be conducted on the existing OGX-26HP horizontal well.
