Major Expansion for MCS Australia with Move to New Premises

03 February 2009

Global subsea engineering company MCS has capped a period of rapid investment by increasing its presence in Australia with a move to new premises.

In the three years since it was established, MCS Perth has seen its staff numbers double to 25 with a further 10 posts expected to be filled before the end of Q1 2009.

The move to 350sq/m office space in the city's central business district of St Georges Terrace, doubles MCS' capacity in the country, allowing the company to further expand its service provision to meet increasing client demand.

Operations Director Enda O'Sullivan, who leads the Perth office, said: “We have had an exceptionally buoyant three years in terms of establishing and expanding a solid client base. As part of our ongoing growth strategy however it was vital that we increased our operations base in this key oil and gas region.

“The combination of riser system delivery and design, through to advanced pipeline engineering and the on-going integrity management of subsea systems provides MCS with the platform for sustained growth in the future. With this move, we now have a world class core form which to lead that growth.”

MCS is a subsidiary of international energy services company, John Wood Group PLC (“Wood Group”). The subsea engineering company, which has offices in Galway, Aberdeen, Houston, Rio, Perth, Paris and Kuala Lumpur and currently employs over 200 people, provides engineering solutions including subsea integrity management, proprietary software and riser design expertise, across a wide variety of projects worldwide.
