WGIM’s New Software Marks Step Change in Integrity Management Performance
31 January 2012
Nexus Integrity Centre is the latest expert software to be introduced to the market by Wood Group Integrity Management (WGIM),Wood Group Kenny's integrity management and software solutions business.
Designed as an ‘all-of-facility’ Integrity Management (IM) system, NEXUS IC is the culmination of a two-year development and testing programme that represents a substantial investment and upgrade from WGIM’s earlier software, known as Asset Integrity Manager. Nexus IC will allow users to rapidly and efficiently track the integrity status of their assets. Used proactively, the system will alert users to any emerging issues before they have an impact on safety or production.
"NEXUS IC is the first intelligent IM system that can integrate and bridge a range of different corporate information systems and provide the capability to manage the integrity of multiple operating assets simultaneously,” explained Mason Linden, Global Technology Director of WGIM’s software division.
"We created NEXUS IC as our new flagship software to deliver a step-change in asset performance. The benefits of the new system centre on delivering increased productivity through innovative processes, and by significantly modifying the systems’ architecture we have improved the efficiency of processing very large data sets. Additionally better visualisation and alerting allows integrity engineers and managers to see, at a glance, critical operations issues as soon as they emerge. Nexus IC includes expert systems such as ‘Nexus Process’ which have been configured to provide an off-the-shelf package for managing the integrity of piping, pressure vessels, tanks and related equipment in compliance with API standards.”
A summary of the new features of NEXUS IC include:
·Custom and configurable dashboards and expanded reporting engine
·Optional module for viewing and processing monitored data
·Longitudinal and cross profiling of pipeline inspection data in sync with video playback
·Enhanced routines for presenting maximum asset information - categorisation, tab ordering and optional information inheritance
·Ability to display, rotate and zoom 3D CAD drawings
·Anomaly group configurations, enabling users to switch quickly between saved anomaly views.
Mark Linton, Managing Director of WGIM added:
"WGIM has a long-standing reputation for technical innovation and excellence in providing hands-on software for the energy sector. We took onboard all of the feedback that we received from users of Asset Integrity Manager to expand the new system’s capability and we are very excited to bring NEXUS IC to the market. We look forward to working with our current customers who wish to upgrade and expand their existing system capability and to introduce new customers to this highly effective yet user-friendly technology.”
