Industry body Subsea UK started the search yesterday for winners of its 2008 Subsea Business Awards.
After a strong response to the inaugural programme earlier this year, Subsea UK anticipates hundreds of nominations from throughout the UK for next year's event.
The awards aim to recognise excellence and achievement across the rapidly expanding subsea sector and feature categories for individuals as well as small and large organisations.
Subsea UK's board will make a special award to the individual who has made the greatest contribution to the industry.
Entries need to be submitted by December 1, with the winners being announced at a dinner on February 13; the evening before Europe's largest subsea exhibition and conference, Subsea 08, which is already sold out.
Subsea UK chairman Bill Edgar said: "The UK subsea sector is full of talented professionals with the ability and desire to take the industry into a new era, both in terms of technology and performance.
"It is anticipated that these awards will highlight some leading lights who have not only helped shape the industry's past, but will be part of driving forward its future."
