Stork Technical Services Wins Integrated Caisson Integrity Management Contract

05 July 2012

Stork Technical Services (Stork), the leading global provider of knowledge-based asset integrity management services for the oil & gas, chemical and power sectors, today announces it has secured a three year contract, with two one-year extension options, from CNR International (CNR) for the provision of integrated caisson integrity management services across the company’s UKCS assets.

The contract is the first of its kind to be secured by Stork and will see the company’s multi-disciplined operatives introduce a holistic approach to caisson integrity management.

Following an extensive review of historic inspection records, as well as design and operational parameters, risk based assessments will be completed for each of the eighty caissons covered by the contract. The results will form the basis of a caisson integrity management database, which will optimise maintenance and inspection activities and reduce unplanned intervention and repairs.

Stork will deliver a range of integrated assess, inspect and repair activities, including specialist inspection, integrity engineering, cathodic protection and specialist cleaning, on CNR’s Ninian, Tiffany and Murchison fields throughout the contract.

Offshore installations can demonstrate caisson failure mechanisms both topsides and/or subsea and therefore need to be considered as a separate entity in asset integrity management programmes. If a caisson detaches it can cause significant damage to subsea infrastructure, impair production capability, and replacement costs can be significant.

Tony O’Shea, General Manager for Stork Technical Services, said: "Securing this contract enhances our position as the industry’s leading asset integrity support partner. Working with CNR, our caisson integrity management services will help ensure the safe and cost-effective operations of its UKCS assets.”

"Combining the services, experience and expertise from across our business means we can deliver crucial integrity services using multi-disciplined teams which reduces personnel on board and travel logistics. We are committed to delivering our services in the safest and most cost-effective manner and I am confident the CNR contract will be another excellent example of this.”
