Trish Banks
Operations Director
Trish joined Subsea UK (now Global Underwater Hub) in 2005 and brought her international experience of managing events to the role of Events and Marketing Manager and subsequently Operations Manager where she was soon representing the organisation at conferences and exhibitions globally. She has played a key strategic role in the growth of the membership of the GUH along with the expansion and management of the organisation’s events offering.
She was responsible for establishing and managing many events which have now become key diary dates in the events calendar including Subsea Expo – the world’s largest subsea exhibition and conference; the Subsea Expo annual dinner and awards; Underwater Robotics – the world’s first ROV conference; the Mobilising the Military campaign to encourage ex-services personnel to join the sector; and the GUH STEM Challenge – a programme of regional competitions for over 350 (13/14 year old) school students across the UK.
She is a seasoned senior leader who has formed thousands of connections across the global subsea industry over the past two decades. Working with her team members to ensure that members feel valued and secure great value from the membership, Trish has identified new contacts in a wide range of expanding global markets and has also worked with Government agencies to lead projects in Mexico, Africa, India, Asia and the Americas.
Always mindful of GUH's not-for-profit status, Trish has placed a high priority on budget control and has planned all of the organisation’s events to offer ROI for member and participants.
Most recently, Trish has developed a programme of online and hybrid events in response to the changing demands of the event industry and is responsible for delivering a wide programme of webinars with sectors including, defence, aquaculture, and floating offshore wind.
