Subsea 7 Announces its Support of the Next Generation of Subsea Engineers

Subsea 7 Inc (OSE Symbol: SUB), one of the world's leading subsea engineering and construction companies, is delighted to announce that its Engineering Graduate Training Scheme has been re-certified by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), giving the course valid ICE accreditation until January 2014.
Subsea 7's Engineering Graduate Training Scheme allows graduates to obtain chartered membership of the ICE, as a result this must be strictly regulated to ensure all aspects are to the required standard set by both the ICE and the Engineering Council.
Subsea 7 provides its Engineering Graduates with a structured, comprehensive four year programme to fulfil the requirements of the engineering institutions through the achievement of key competencies, ultimately leading to Chartered Engineer status. Subsea 7 currently has 54 Engineers, who have joined the Graduate Training Scheme within the last 4 years, working towards Chartered Engineer status.
It is also pleased to announce its support of the industry's future Subsea Engineers by conducting a series of lectures and tutorials as part of the Subsea Construction, Inspection and Maintenance module of the MSc in Subsea Engineering course at the University of Aberdeen.
The University of Aberdeen's postgraduate MSc course in Subsea Engineering, launched in 2008, allows eligible engineering graduates to gain the skills necessary to work in the dynamic subsea industry. Whilst studying various elements of subsea engineering, students benefit from the technical knowledge of established Subsea Engineers through an extensive series of ‘guest' lectures and tutorials.
Senior Subsea 7 Engineers, many of whom are leading experts in their field, will deliver a series of lectures and tutorials from now until May 2009 on the following subjects: Vessels, Mobilisation and Rigging, Installation Techniques, ROV and Diver Inspection and Intervention, and Decommissioning and Abandonment. University liaison and tutorial support will be provided to the post-graduate students by Subsea 7's Engineering Services Manager, Craig Porter, who is also the Supervising Engineer for the Subsea 7 Graduate Training Scheme.
