AREVA: Meet the Buyer Events

AREVA is a leader in the offshore wind turbine market. Having recently opened their UK headquarters in Scotland, they are now looking to engage with potential suppliers and partners in North-east Scotland to support their Operations and Maintenance (O&M) strategy.
Working alongside Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, AREVA is hosting a series of information seminars and ‘meet the buyer’ events to introduce their plans for O&M, and to meet face-to-face potential partners and subcontractors. A limited number of companies are already working in this market. AREVA are keen to meet potential suppliers, who are keen to win a position in what will be a very long term market, and who can help shape their strategy, and with whom they can prepare ways to approach the new offshore wind farms planned for the area. However delegates should be aware that it will be some time before orders can be placed.
This is a great opportunity for companies with experience and know-how from offshore activities (e.g. fishing, oil & gas industry), to work in the thriving offshore wind market. Companies and vessel operators who feel they can work with AREVA in the following areas are asked to complete the following expression of interest form, whereby they will be issued an invitation to AREVA’s information events taking place in Newburgh on 10th and Inverness on the 11thSeptember, and potentially be invited to meet a member of AREVA’s technical team on the same dates. The types of tasks/roles AREVA currently outsource to subcontractors for German projects include:
- Operations management
- O&M port services
- Technician & equipment transfer
- Large component replacement
- Maintenance technician
- Spares & refurbishment
- Mid voltage maintenance (of transformer)
- Big oil exchanges (for the main bearing)
·Special kind of vessels with pump system installed
- Exchange of hydraulic hoses
- Welding
- Blade maintenance
- Maintenance for service lift
