DOF Subsea Enters into Contract with Helix for Vessel Skandi Constructor

DOF Subsea AS, a provider of sea freight transportation services, has entered into a contract with Helix Well Ops, a business unit of Helix Energy Solutions Group, for the vessel Skandi Constructor. The contract is for three years with 3x1 year option and is valued to be approximately NOK825 million. The contract will commence in the second quarter of 2013.

Skandi Constructor, owned by DOF Subsea is a well intervention vessel of Ulstein SX 121 design built in 2009. The vessel has a LOA of 120.2 meters and a breadth of 25.0 meters and is equipped with a 150 ton crane and a multi-purpose tower with 140 ton lift capacity, the company said.

Norskan/DOF Subsea Brazil have agreed with Petrobras, a two-year extension for Skandi Chieftain from the third quarter of 2012. Skandi Chieftain is a RSV with ROVs and deck mounted subsea equipment, the company added.
