Aker Solutions Shines a Light on Subsea Technology

Aberdeen operation of international oil services company Aker Solutions is hosting a technology day at its Dyce facilities for customers, contractors and suppliers.
Around 150 industry professionals are expected to attend the event on October 9 which will feature a series of technical presentations and tours to showcase Aker Solutions’ new and existing products and technologies.
Four generations of subsea control modules, which have helped shape the North Sea industry in the last 30 years, will also be on show.
Matt Corbin, Aberdeen-based managing director with Aker Solutions, said: "Our industry is constantly evolving and the requirement for new design and technology innovations is constant. Customer needs underlies all of our current and potential future products, ensuring our expertise is applied to the areas today, which will take the industry to where it needs to be tomorrow.
"There have been great technical strides taken in recent years. One of the prime objectives of our technology day is to engage with industry colleagues on how technology needs to keep developing to support the burgeoning growth of our sector.”
Subjects in the spotlight at the technology day include subsea control modules through the decades, subsea compression and wellhead technologies and an overview of Aker Solutions new generation subsea electronics modules that will be launched in 2014. There will also be a presentation on the growth in the maintenance, modifications and operations sector.
