Trench Dug for North Sea Kew Gas Development
23 November 2012Reef Subsea Power and Umbilical has provided seabed preparation assistance for Centrica’s Kew gas field development in the UK southern North Sea.
The company excavated the seabed at a depth of 40 m (131 ft) near the Chiswick platform to allow the accommodation rig Seafox 7 to place the spud cans safely on the seafloor.
Reef Subsea Dredging & Excavation assisted the operation, using its high-power T8000 excavation tool.
Prior to excavation, Reef Subsea performed a detailed survey of the affected area. The program was completed within seven days.
