Technip Awarded Subsea Construction/IMR Contract by BP

Technip has beenawardeda four-year extension to an existing subsea construction, inspection,maintenance and repiar (SCIMR) frame agreement with BP for various assets in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS).

Under this contract, Technip will continue to provide solutions supported by highly skilled divers for BP’s existing UK subsea infrastructure until 2017.

Bill Morrice, Managing Director, Technip’s UK operating centre said:"We are delighted to be awarded this extension that will see Technip carry out work for BP's UKCS assets as part of the ongoing SCIRM contract. This renewed agreementcould potentially utilise DSVsfrom Technip's fleet for up to 80 days per year."

Bill added: "This type of contract provides multiple benefits to Technip, including high vessel utilisation, a foundation of work spanning many years and further development opportunities for our subsea engineers. This particular award extends our long-term relationship with BP and aligns with Technip’s field development integrated solutions.”

Trevor Garlick, Regional President BP North Sea, said: "We are continuing to invest heavily in our core North Sea assets and contractors with a strong presence in the northeast of Scotland are playing a vital role supporting this strategy.

"We look forward to continuing to work with Technip to safely maintain our existing and new subsea infrastructure.”

The contract will be managed by Technip’s UK operating centre in Aberdeen, Scotland with a dedicated team of around 30 people providing annual support.
