Forum Energy Technologies Buys Dynacon to Expand Subsea Capabilities

05 December 2012

Forum Energy Technologies Inc, a Houston-based manufactured technologies company that services the energy industry, has acquired Bryan, Texas-based Dynacon Inc.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Dynacon makes launch and recovery systems and manufactures cable and other equipment for the marine industry.

In Bryan, Dynacon has 82,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 40,000 square feet of office space, and has more than 100 employees in the region, Forum Energy Technologies said in a statement.

The deal boosts Forum Energy Technology’s share of the subsea technology market and capabilities, said Cris Gaut, Forum chairman and CEO, in a statement. Gaut added that the company plans to put more money into Dynacon’s Bryan facility to grow its capacity.

Forum Energy Technologies has about 3,200 employees in Houston and other facilities. The company was created by a five-way merger of technology and other energy services companies in 2010.
