Babcock Set to Fabricate Subsea Structures for BP

Babcock Set to Fabricate Subsea Structures for BP

17 January 2013

Babcock has been awarded a contract worth more than £30m by BP to manufacture and deliver more than 70 subsea structures as part of the Quad 204 offshore redevelopment project located 130km west of Shetland, UK.

The Quad 204 project will access the remaining hydrocarbon reserves in the Schiehallion and Loyal fields, extending production through to 2035.

Under the agreement, Babcock will fabricate 74 modules in carbon steel for the subsea system, including 44 process fluid handling structures (manifolds, flowline and riser terminations and subsea isolation valve structures) and 30 control distribution structures (assemblies and umbilical terminations), amounting to a total of some 2,300 tonnes of fabrication.
