Hydratight Launches New Combination Flange Facer
04 February 2013
Market leading joint integrity specialist Hydratight has added to its range of on-site machining tools with the launch of their new Combination Flange Facer (CFF).
Available for immediate order from the company’s Red Wing, MN base, the CFF offers users the option of mounting the machine ID or OD, making it a versatile addition to any service fleet.
The CFF uses a unique open loop, self-generated hydraulic pump system for advancing the tool block. This ensures that it consistently delivers continuous even bit advancement during the rotational operation of the machine.
Another key benefit that the CFF offers users is the ability to accept all standard Hydratight clamshell accessories, making it ideal for both those in possession of Hydratight clamshell accessories and those looking to expand the capability of a flange facer to severing and bevelling applications. Both of these developments increase the effectiveness of the machine and the potential rate of deployment. The range of accessories includes tool block slides, counter bores, swivel heads and facing arms.
"The CFF represents an exciting development in Hydratight’s already impressive range of machining tools,” said Hydratight’s global machining products manager, Mike Mroz.
"The durability, portability and the range of applications that the tool can be used for are exceptional and we are delighted with how the product has performed in our extensive testing.
"We know that it is a market leading machining tool, and we are sure that our customers will share this view too.”
Standard available tooling for severing applications include; 1⁄2" x 1" sever bits and 1" x 1" bevel or sever combination bits. For flange facing and counter boring, standard tooling is 1⁄2" x 1⁄2" in either tool steel or indexable versions.
Speciality bits, with any angle of bevel or counter bore, can also be made to order in line with Hydratight’s commitment to providing customers with the complete client experience.
Other CFF features:
·Remote radial/axial control of the tool block, providing market leading performance and safety.
·The CFF Facing Arm is designed to provide maximum rigidity and performance while still providing chip fall and excellent operator line of sight.
·The facing arm can be radically adjusted to conform to specific machining applications.
·The CFF can be driven by pneumatic, hydraulic or electric drive.
