Subsea UK would like to thank all delegates who attended the Subsea UK Business Awards Dinner; together with your generosity, we helped raise £4,000 for Age Scotland and Silver Line Scotland.

The donations really do make a difference. Brian Sloan speaking on behalf of Silver Line Scotland said: "Your funds will go towards helping us build capacity to deal with the call volumes we receive. Since we launched at the end of November 2013, to early May 2014, we have received 8,935 calls and 42% of them are in relation to friendship. Before offering a friendship service our helpline offered only information and advice and now since launch our calls have doubled! Clearly loneliness and isolation amongst older people in Scotland is a big issue.”

"The lady was the first person I had spoken to properly in seven weeks,” said one Silver Line Scotland caller.

"There, I’ve talked myself into feeling better, but I couldn’t have done it without you on the end of the phone,” said another caller.

"Thank you for my call, it makes me feel so special and cared about,” said another.
