Neptune Snares Pluto Subsea Fabrication
06 April 2009
Australia's Neptune Marine Services' fabrication offshoot Link Weld Engineering is primed to fabricate the subsea tie-in spools for Woodside's Pluto project after snaring a deal with Acergy Australia.
The contract, worth A$10 million (US$7.1 million), involves the fabrication of 31 spools, for both deep-water and shallow water platform application, ranging in sizes from two inches to 36 inches. Also included is the fabrication and assembly of associated spreader beams.
The scope of work includes all aspects of engineering and fabrication comprising specialised welding, non-destructive testing, gauging, cleaning, hydrotesting, coating, dimensional control surveying and final assemble in preparation for loadout.
“Importantly, this project also increases our involvement with the Pluto liquefied natural gas project given that both our survey and ROV divisions have already been contracted to undertake support works during the jacket installation phase,” Neptune's managing director Christian Lange said today.
