Siemens Subsea has just launched a new engineering initiative with south Cumbrian schools. The company, based in Ulverston, has begun work with six Furness schools to increase engagement with young people in the area.
The Subsea Challenge is the brainchild of engineering apprentice, Philip Keith, who is a member of this year’s Brathay apprentices group, Team Subsea.
Mr Keith wanted to find a way to develop ties with schools in the area to encourage them to think about the wonders of engineering and raise awareness of science, technology, engineering and maths subjects.
