Grant Adam, Head of Integrity Management at Jee, will present on Best Practice for Management of Pipeline Integrity by Pigging in Complex Environments at the 2015 Subsea Integrity Conference (SSIC) in Houston.

Serving as the region’s foremost subsea hub, the SSIC will be held on the 5-6 October at the Doubletree Greenway Plaza, focusing on the future of the subsea market as it overcomes economic challenges and uncertainty.

Commenting on the conference, Mr Adam said: "The consequences of poor integrity management can be extremely costly and damaging to the asset and environment. In an industry where subsea assets are maturing and reaching the end of their design lives, pipeline integrity management is now a number one priority to minimise failure risks and avoid production downtime.”

Drawing on more than 20 years’ industry experience, practicing chartered engineer Grant Adam, who has also provided a paper for the event entitled Lessons learned in subsea pipeline integrity management: From design to decommissioning, will be presenting on the necessities of pipeline pigging during production operations, whilst outlining the different threats to pipelines that pigging can mitigate.

Mr Adam continued: "At Jee we have a vast and in-depth knowledge of pigging operations, having worked with a number of major operators, and the conference is an ideal platform to showcase our technical expertise, and impart our knowledge to junior engineers and future leaders in the subsea market.”

Jee will also be hosting a unique and innovative half-day training workshop on Integrity management of subsea pipelines on the first day of the event.

The workshop will provide 25 engineers with exclusive access to Jee’s specialist subsea engineering tuition. The workshop will deliver an understanding of pipeline failure and integrity, knowledge of pipeline integrity management system, techniques for risk management of operating pipelines, an introduction into internal and external pipeline inspection techniques and integrity issues experiences by operators of subsea pipeline systems.
